The Diploma in Cooperative Management is a comprehensive program designed to equip learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to effectively manage, lead, and develop cooperative societies and other member-based organizations. This course integrates principles of management, cooperative law, financial management, marketing, entrepreneurship, and modern cooperative governance to prepare students for roles within SACCOs, producer cooperatives, marketing cooperatives, housing cooperatives, and community-based organizations.
The program emphasizes cooperative philosophy, business skills, and financial literacy, enabling learners to understand how cooperatives function, how they are regulated, and how they contribute to socio-economic development. Learners gain competence in cooperative accounting, auditing, credit management, risk management, customer relations, project management, and ICT applications in cooperatives.
Through theory and practical training—including industrial attachment—students apply their knowledge in real workplace environments such as SACCOs, financial institutions, NGOs, and private sector enterprises. The course builds analytical, leadership, and communication skills, preparing graduates to support the growth and sustainability of cooperative organizations.
